In the smartphone world, a few dozen manufacturers release new flagship devices each year. Two of the most popular brands in China are Xiaomi and Oppo.

In this blog post, we will compare the two devices and help you make your decision plain and easier.
We will look at the design, performance, features, price, and tests we carried out on each phone. In the end, you should have a better idea of which phone is right for you.
DESIGN
Both flagship products are literally made with a premium unique design. Oppo Find X5 Pro is more eye-catching thanks to the Nanometer Microcrystalline Ceramic back i.e twice as hard as glass which set it aside as an immense design Oppo product or by far the best design smartphone for 2022.
Xiaomi 12 Pro on the hand, is made with a matte finish design with a glass or vegan leather back; a smooth and well sleek cut. Both bodies leave no traces of fingerprint or smudging. They are both the best choice in terms of design in my opinion.
But their display set them apart, Xiaomi 12 Pro collaborates with DisplayMate A+ to result in a better resolution as a flagship device plus the LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) display enable.
Oppo Find X5 Pro supports the same features display but with a slight resolution and a lower level of brighter brightness (8192) than based on our test.

Experience with Xiaomi 12 Pro and Oppo Find X5 Pro Design
![]() |
Xiaomi 12 Pro Design |
Xiaomi 12 Pro comes in different color variants, I got my hand on the green color built with a vegan leather back, it is different from other's spec designs with frosted glass. Despite that, it is still quite slippery like other specs.
It's easy to grip, and well cut out; like I said its body leaves no trace of fingerprint or smudging except the Camera Area made with metal. In terms of weight, it is a lightweight smartphone.
Unfortunately, it does not support an IP Rating (i.e ability for the device to block the penetration of water and dust as known as Splash/Water/Dust Resistance) probably the feature was preserved for their coming Xiaomi 12S product.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Display |
It comes with an E5 AMOLED panel that embraces the brightness of the display with 25% efficient power. Not the brightest have ever seen, but it can give a better view under direct sunlight.
In terms of colors, it has a bunch of colors like the Reading Mode, Paper Mode, advanced setting, Color Scheme, Super Resolution, AI Image Enhancement, AI HDR Enhancement, and MEMC.
In addition, Dark Mode can be enabled, which can be used for any third-party apps like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other apps on the device.
Xiaomi 12 Pro runs on MIUI 13 based on the Android 12 version, literally, MIUI 13 advanced features support RAM Optimization and Increases of Virtual RAM, Widgets, Replacement of Sky in your photos, New Live Wallpaper, Sidebar (Ability to keep your favorite apps float at the side of the screen), Optimising of Internal Storage, and Xiaomi Notepad (based on the one we can found). So as the Android 12 version focuses on the latest UI/UX design.

OPPO Find X5 Pro Design |
I will say the design is something for me; Classic, raw design and well-curved. Based on the test we carried out, Oppo went deep down the ceramic back cover in other to achieve 75° precision crafted to align with the Camera Area. To give this top-notch modern smartphone look to their Find X5 Pro with a matte finish.
The only con of Oppo Find X5 Pro in terms of design is; that it is quite slippery aside from that it is comfortable to hold, glossy, and thicker.

OPPO Find X5 Pro Display |
OPPO Find X5 Pro display on LTPO Gen 2 AMOLED Display thanks to the LTPO which makes it support high refresh rate and resolution with low battery consumption.
We do have "Always on display" that makes use of LTPO i.e it refreshes your device @1fps when it is off.
The "Always on display" is customizable for users to use their preferable "Always on display" be it in Portrait Silhouette/Kaleidoscope/Emoji for a more good look of your device.
It comes with a bunch of colors to custom your device to your taste such as Eye Comfort, Image Sharpener, Nature Tone Display, and HDR Video Mode for true life color.
It supports dark mode also, which can be switched between Gentle/Medium/Enhance Mode to deep dark mode. It can be used for first or third-party apps like your Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other apps on the device.

OPPO Find X5 Pro OS |
The feeling of using some of OPPO Find X5 Pro's features is like that of Windows such as Keeping an app floating on the display, Fliping from one app to another, and most of all Controlling your favorite app with just a wave.
These features lie under the latest version of OPPO called ColorOS. 12. 1. Also based on the OS update (Android 12) it highlights the change in UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) design.
CAMERA
Well, Oppo Find X5 Pro was actually built for this aspect, powered by Marisilicon X NPU for the user to capture a 4K Night video with Oppo advanced technology of a 5-axis stabilization sensor on the Main Camera, a 5x hybrid optical zoom on the Telephoto Camera, and 4cm macro mode on the Ultra-wide Camera. It is a mind-blowing feature tho.
Xiaomi 12 Pro drove out with the largest sensor Sony IMX 707 (1/1.28") of the year (2022) ability to capture a low light image anywhere, anytime, and a device ready for any scene. They are both . . . . something. In terms of the Front Camera, both don't support 4K video recording...

Experience with Xiaomi 12 Pro and Oppo Find X5 Pro Camera
We decided to compare the night shot of these devices because the announcement of both phones was directly on night shots be it for videos or photography; obviously, it's to impress users with their camera system upgrade which means the ability to capture objects in low-light conditions.
Note: We took these shots in a different place entirely to avoid viewer criticism about the editing of the image, they were all posted as they were shot.
These are the night shots we took with the Xiaomi 12 Pro and Oppo Find X5 Pro.

Telephoto Camera 2x Optical Zoom |
These shots were taken in the Financial District of Toronto (Canada).
Pros:
- It provides the true life color when capturing an object thanks to Hasselblad.
- It supports 5-axis Optical Image Stabilisation for a better shot, especially when making videos.
- The Ultra-wide Camera is intelligently built by Oppo and Hasselblad, ability to focus on a closer object (Macro Mode) with no lag of details.
- It provides extra light in low-light conditions without overexposure.
- The telephoto camera shot is also super crisp.
Cons:
- The telephoto losses it's strength when gotten to the actual 20it'soom as it announced not the worst ever seen but it is unlike a flagship smartphone.

Pros:
- It is supreme in cinematography experience.
- It is more fun to use, like the Pro-focus features it supported such as Motion tracking focus and Eye tracking focus. To me, it's indeed an improvement.
- It has a very large sensor to capture every detail of an object.
- The telephoto Camera's 20x zooms still impress with a good details result.
- Xiaomi 12 Pro still has the unbeatable Pro Section (Feature) in 2022 be it for Footage videos or Photography.
Cons:
- None
PERFORMANCE
Checking these devices side by side, both are on one of the ranking chipsets (Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1) they also come with sufficient RAMs & ROMs. Both work stunningly cool.

BATTERY
In terms of last-longing battery, I do say size does not matter but that principle can't be applied here. Oppo Find X5 Pro has a 5000mAh battery while Xiaomi 12 Pro has 4600mAh, judging ordinally, Oppo Find X5 Pro won here is; based on the test we carry out.
Xiaomi 12 Pro supported 120W(watt) Fast Charging while Oppo Find X5 Pro is 80W(watt) Fast Charging. So, both have Pros and Cons here. The decision depends on your needs.

PRICE
Talking about the price of both products, Xiaomi 12 Pro is still slightly more affordable than the Oppo Find X5 Pro. Guess the feature IP Rating (IP68 Water Resistance 1.5 meters up to 30 minutes) makes Oppo Find X5 Pro over the odds.
The amount given here might not be the exact amount it sold in your region but this amount is sold in a US store...

CONCLUSION
Wrapping up, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is a great phone for its price range. It has a better processor, more RAM, a better camera, and a higher-resolution display. The only downside is that it does not support IP Rating, eSIM, and Earjack Port.
Also the Find X5 Pro, on the other hand, comes with features like a High-resolution camera, a bigger battery, a powerful processor, a better screen, and a more compact design. The only downside is that it does not support fast charging like that of the Xiaomi 12 pro. Ultimately, the choice between these two phones depends on your specific needs.
